The biblical term “covenant” describes a Christian’s sacred relationships with the Triune God, His Church and one another. At Houston New Life Church(HNLC), these loving relationships characterize how we learn, live and serve.
성경 The Bible
성경은 우리 주님을 높여드리고 교회를 든든히 세우고 그리스도인들의 성숙과 그의 왕국을 확장시키기 위하여 하나님의 말씀을 설교하고 가르치는데 최우선에 둔다.
새생명교회에서 거룩한 말씀에 따라 성도들이 헌신하도록 무장시키고, 이 말씀은 기초적 사역 원리로 우리에게 주신 목적을 성취하고 공동체 안에서 소금과 빛으로 섬겨서 세상을 향하여 “이는 그리스도께서 친히 만물의 으뜸이 되게 하는 것이다”(골 1:18)

우리의 주요교리는 성경말씀으로부터 나온다. 개혁주의 노선을 추구한다. 우리는 개혁주의 신앙에 따라 성경진리신학을 계승한다. 이에 우리는 성삼위일체 하나님을 믿고 하나님의 말씀의 무오성과 우리의 어떤 조건과 행위로 말미암지 않고 오직 하나님의 주권적 은혜를 통하여 구원을 받는 것을 믿는다.
The Bible is clear about the primacy of the teaching and preaching of God’s Word in the exaltation of our Lord, the building up of the Church, the maturing of Christians, and the extending of His Kingdom. At HNLC, a commitment to equipping the saints, in accordance with Holy Scripture, serves as a foundational ministry principle to fulfill our purpose and desire to be salt and light in our community and throughout the world, “that in all things Christ might have the preeminence” (Col 1:18).
Each Sunday morning an opportunity to benefit from the hearing and faithful preaching of Scripture as our Pastor/Teacher Edward Young Song presents in-depth and relevant studies in the books of the Bible, together with practical application for the daily Christian walk.
As an extension of our pulpit ministry, Pastor Song presents expositional preaching from God’s Word each Sunday on the Audio program through the church website www.houstonnewlife.org or www.hnewlife.org .
Our form of doctrine is also Scriptural. The term “Reformed” denotes our doctrinal beliefs. We stand in the Reformation heritage of true-to-the-Bible theology. That means we believe in the Trinity, the inerrancy of the Word of God, and that salvation comes solely through the sovereign grace of God—apart from any works or merit of our own.
교회조직 The Church
새생명교회는 성경적인 조직과 교리를 추구한다. 교회조직은 해당교단의 조직법과 회중의 선출과 담임목사의 임명에 따라 구성된다. 교회의 구성은 그리스도를 구주로 고백하는 세례교인들과 제직으로서는 담임목사, 부교역자, 장로, 안수집사, 권사, 서리집사들이다. 김증된 교회지도자는 담임목사와 장로들이다. 잠재적 교회지도자들은 안수집사, 권사, 서리집사이다. 필요할 경우 공동회와 담임목사의 임명을 통해서 선출한다.
HNLC seeks to be Scriptural in both its government and its doctrine. The form of church government we hold to is called “Presbyterian.” Officers are elected by the congregation and nominated by the Senior Pastor. A first church office is that filled by Pastors and Elders. A second church office is that filled by deacons, who also stand election for the purpose of fulfilling their call to serve alongside elders and lay leaders thru the congregational meeting and nomination of the Senior Pastor
예배 Worship
함께 모인 연합예배를 통하여 하나님의 집에서 주의 축복을 추구한다. 하나님의 말씀의 설교를 포함하여 찬양팀과 찬양대를 구성하여 하나님을 찬송하여 드린다. 휴스턴새생명교회의 예배목표는 창조주와 구속주와 보호자로서의 하나님을 높여 드리는데 있다. 그러므로, 하나님의 거룩하심과 영광스러운 이름에 합당하도록 최상의 음악과 예배를 드리도록 지속적으로 추구해야 한다. 모든 예배는 하나님의 말씀과 설교와 하나님의 백성들이 함께 모여 찬양으로 하나님께 영광을 드리고 서로를 격려하며 하버지 하나님과 그 아들 예수 그리스도의 구속과 성령 안에서 은혜의 복음을 나타내도록 메시지를 전한다.
Together, we seek to “bless the Lord” in His house through corporate worship. In addition to the preaching of God’s Word, worship services at HNLC include a blend of music styles from the time-honored hymns of the faith to contemporary choruses. The objective of worship at HNLC is to exalt God as Creator, Redeemer and Sustainer. Therefore, we eagerly seek to offer music and worship with an excellence that would bring honor to His holy name. The all worship services are gathering time together as God’s Word is preached and we as a church family use hymns and spiritual songs of praise along with contemporary music to glorify God, encourage one another and magnify the message of salvation by grace in God the Father through His Son our Savior Jesus Christ and by the Holy Spirit.
전도와 선교 Outreach
새생명교회는 복음을 들고 지역과 나라와 세계를 향하여 헌신한다. 선교사들을 후원하는 물질적 파트너가 되도록 교회를 준비하고 하나님의 성령의 전개됨이 세상을 향하도록 모든 성도들이 개인적으로 부르심을 받았다.
HNLC is committed to taking the gospel to our community, our nation and our world. In addition to financial partnership with missionaries under our World Missions effort keeps our congregation informed about the movement of the Spirit of God around the world and equips those so called to personal participation in missions.
제자화 Discipleship
새생명교회에서 우리는 예수 그리스도의 형상을 닮아가도록 그를 찾고 주 안에서 붙어 있고 다른 사람들과 함께 그 생명을 나누도록 그 아들을 통해 하나님을 알도록 하나님의 초청에 감사를 드린다. 우리의 주일예배는 새생명교회에서 그리스도의 제자로서 하나님의 말씀을 배우는 많은 기회 중의 하나이다. 주일학교와, 소그룹 모임으로 관계를 세워 다른 사람들과 배우고 나눔을 위해 열린문이 되어 이를 통해 주 예수 그리스도를 알고 그 은혜 안에서 성장해 가도록 한다. 다른 여러 소그룹에 필요한 제자화 훈련 기회들은 남여 성경공부, 자자훈련, 연중 내내 계속 가능하도록 진행해 나간다.
At HNLC, we believe our thankful response to God’s invitation to know Him, through His Son, is to seek to be conformed to the image of Jesus Christ, to abide in Him and to share this life with others. Our Sunday worship is just one of many opportunities at HNLC to learn about God’s Word, to disciple, or to be discipled. Relationships built in Sunday School and small groups are open doors to learning and sharing with others that each may “grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
In addition to the discipleship opportunities which focus on the needs of other specific groups, there are many Bible studies, discipleship, sharing and prayer group opportunities for the men and women of the church available year-round.
공동체들을 통한 관계 Relationships Through Communities
성경 안에서 하나님께서는 교회 예배에 대한 크고 작은 모임들이 믿는자들의 모범이 되라고 하신다. 소그룹모임은 주로 가정에서 함께 모였던 초대교회 같이 그리스도인들을 위하여 상호 특별한 관계를 증진시키기 위하여 지시사항, 격려, 책임을 제시하는 모임이다. 그로인해서 교회개척 처음부터 새생명교회는 모든 교인들은 소그룹과 주일대예배에 다 참여하도록 발전시킨다.
회중의 공동체는 가족모임이라는 소그룹모임에 집중한다. 이런 소그룹 가족모임들은 하나의 사랑의 교제가정이 되어 의미있는 관계성과 친구같은 관계와 영성성장과 창조적인 사역의 기회를 제공한다. 교회력에 따라 연중 진행되는 행사들을 제공하고 야외예배와 가족수련회들을 제공한다.
새가족들을 위한 담임목사의 새가족반에서는 담임목사의 목회철학과 교회 전반에 대한 소개를 나눈다. 새가족반은 담임목사를 알고 친밀성을 가지고 교회에 정착을 돕는다.
In the Bible, God presents His model for the church, offering examples of believers who gathered for worship in both large and small group settings. Small Group Meeting together in homes, the early Church recognized the need to develop significant relationships that would provide instruction, encouragement and accountability for the Christian. That’s why, since its inception, HNLC has promoted the involvement of its membership in Sunday School Communities, in small groups and in corporate worship.
Congregational community is entered into primarily through the home-based Small Groups ministry. These Small Groups prepare as a loving fellowship home where meaningful friendships, spiritual growth, and ministry opportunities are created. There are also special events throughout the year, such as the church picnic, family retreat, other events etc., that are designed to create an environment where community can flourish.
The Pastor’s Inquirers Class offers an introduction to the ministries of HNLC. Our guests are encouraged to seek the Lord’s direction through this class to learn how He might use them in the church.
사역과 봉사 Ministry and Service
교회이기 때문에 교회건물 보다는 사람들을 살아있는 생명을 얻게 하고 그리스도의 몸으로 관계 맺도록 한다. 성경은 하나님의 백성들을 섬기게 하시려고 하나님께서는 우리에게 특별한 은사들을 주신다고 말씀한다. 새생명교회는 지금은 비록 막 태동하는 개척교회로서 지도자들과 사역자들과 헌신된 사람들이 필요함은 그분들의 은사들을 통해 각 신자들을 섬기기 위한 것이다. 우리는 기도한다. 그의 영광을 위하여 예배자들을 보내 달라고. 그리고 헌신자들을 보내 달라고.
Because the church is a people and not a building, the involvement of its members in the life and work of this body is vital. The Bible states that the Lord has given each of us particular gifts and talents to be used in the service of His people. There are many opportunities for service here. HNLC as a newly planted church has specific needs for leaders and volunteers so that there is both a place and a role for each member and his or her gifts. We pray to the Lord as the Lord and Savior who will send us more worshippers and more servers for HIS glory.
